FDEA Developmental Math Scholarship Award
($500.00)

Sponsored by FDEA, one award in the amount to $500 will be given to a deserving developmental mathematics student at the FDEA's annual conference. Applications may be submitted from January 1 thru May 30, 2008. The award will be presented at the FDEA conference in October in Orlando.

The following criteria must be met by each applicant:
 
  1. Must attend a college with an institutional membership (contact tlcherr@fccj.edu if uncertain)
  2. Must have completed at least one developmental math class, with an A or B grade and have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5
  3. Must submit a current, official transcript
  4. Must submit a letter of recommendation from one of your developmental math instructors, or math lab learning specialists
  5. Must submit a photograph or photo file in jpg format.
  6. Must submit a typed narrative explaining an innovative method for solving a math problem. Include a step by step process and state the objective to be covered. It should be in size 12 font, not longer than one page, and double spaced. If you are unfamiliar with any math symbol programs, please contact your computer lab or math instructor for assistance. This narrative is to be emailed to Tammy L. Cherry at the email address below; also, submit a hard copy of the narrative with the above material and this application package.
