Excellence in Developmental Education Scholarship
In 1991, the first FDEA award for excellence scholarship was presented. The purpose of the award is to honor students who have taken developmental education courses on their pathways to success. Students who are able to achieve high standards of excellence are deserving of our highest praise and greatest support. One of the most exciting FDEA events is the recognition of student success through the awarding of a scholarship at the association's annual conference. (Application information). The award was retitled in 1994 to recognize long-time developmental educator and FDEA member, Joe Howland. Recipients of this distinguished award to date are listed below.
